In recent news regarding the global Coronavirus pandemic, a theory has surfaced claiming that 5G service is linked to the spread of the virus. The connection is primarily fueled by social media users pointing out the new use of 5G coinciding with the surge in Coronavirus cases. The main claim in this theory is that Wuhan, the city in China largely associated with the early phases of virus spread, was a location that had received 5G service for research and testing purposes.
Following the growing publicity of this highly unlikely theory, groups in the UK have began setting 5G cell towers on fire in an attempt to curb the spread of the deadly virus.
