Artificial Intelligence: Revolutionizing Medicine, One AI Machine at a Time

In today’s world, Artificial Intelligence has become increasingly prevalent within the healthcare industry – and for great reason. There have been bots to help monitor patients who must stay at home, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic that is affecting the entire world at the moment.

It has found new solutions for antibiotics – being able to predict which drugs would interact harshly much faster than the man-made route could accomplish. Now, AI in the healthcare industry is now setting its sights on a new task: detecting blood for signs of lung cancer.

There has been an AI machine developed that could screen patients for lung cancer by screening their blood for the common DNA mutations that implicate diseases, more particularly lung cancer. It studies the free-floating DNA circulating within the patient’s bloodstream.

Whilst the machine cannot diagnose cancer with complete confidence, but what it instead does is flags cases that are more likely to be affected by the disease. This is a revolutionary discovery in the field of artificial intelligence, and can help for early detection of many people as well.
