Social Media and the WHO??

Wow. Wow. Wow. When Vine was popular, the only folks who interacted with it was the young folks on the internet. Vine walked so TikTok can S O A R. With TikTok, you have a range of ages from 10 to at least 55. You have high school teachers using the app and being silly with their students. I have had colleagues who are millennial using the app as well.

The jump from “oh this is for entertainment for younger folks” to “we can use this as a way to combat misinformation about the coronavirus” is mind-blowing.

Large social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter are a part of the fight against misinformation on the coronavirus. This is the kind of backing that needs to happen during natural disasters as well. Using each and every avenue to keep information accurate and consistent.

I have not used TikTok myself, but the app is an amazing way to not only laugh, but now to learn adequate information about the coronavirus.

Remember: WASH YOUR HANDS THOROUGHLY and get ready for the new age of governments using social media for their own activism 🙂
