New Technology to Make Traveling More Accessible

Although travel has come a long ways as far as accommodations for disabled travelers goes, there are still limitations as to where individuals with many disabilities can go. Cities in particular can be hard to maneuver for those in wheelchairs, or who depend on a visual aid to navigate. CNN Business covered a variety of new technologies that are helping close that gap for many individuals. While much of the technology featured in this article is still in the early phases of development and will not be available to the general public, it is still a milestone for those chosen to test the equipment and know what will soon be the norm of travel.

Among the technology featured are devices such as a wheelchair that is capable of ascending and descending stairs, a smart walking cane with GPS technology, and a robotic exomuscle suit that would make walking or hiking a possibility for those who otherwise would find these activities difficult.
