Scientists have developed a new antibiotic with the help of AI. The antibiotic was created after using a complex algorithm to analyze “more than one hundred million chemical compounds” in just a couple of days. Scientists claim that the antibiotic is able to kill at least 35 types of deadly viruses.
It is the first time in history that artificial intelligence has helped develop an antibiotic, and there are hopefully many to come. Until now, scientists had to manually test every possible combination of chemical compounds in order to create an efficient drug. This is big step for the healthcare sector.
