Manal al-Sharif posted a video of herself driving on social media. Later on, she was thrown in jail for nine days and became the leader of a revolutionary movement. Al-Sharif’s movement forced the conservative country of Saudi Arabia to reverse its laws and allow women to drive. Breaking the norm is not foreign to her at all. She was the only woman working as an IT security specialist at a state-owned oil producer. Later on, she also founded Women2Hack Academy, Australia’s first social enterprise dedicated to finding and nurturing women leaders in cybersecurity through mentorship, leadership, and technical training programs.
