SEO, or search engine optimization, is a digital marketing strategy that increases the quality and quantity of website traffic. Hackers are targeting website security via this backdoor using malware and phishing attempts to harm customers or visitors to the site. Hackers are using SEO spam to trick users to think they are going onto a specific site but when the user clicks it, they are met with link farms that are all spam. In addition to targeting customers, Hackers are also purposely filling sites with spam and making it difficult to impossible to retrieve that site back. From there, if Google detects that your site is spam even though it is not your fault, they can remove you from the google search listings. That is how most businesses market which consequentially affects their sales and the success of their business.
