We’ve all been there. You wake up, open facebook and see hateful things on your profile or someone commenting unnecessary things on your Instagram profile. So you think: “I”m just going to do a mini cleanse from all social media.” Wrong! This recent article I found talks about what to do when you’re feeling like enough is enough. I’ve never felt the need to completely delete all my social media but I can imagine there’s been a lot of people that have needed to go through that. In this article, she talks about the three main platforms: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook. One thing i didn’t know about Facebook is that there is an unfollow button, you’re still friends with the person but their post/shares no longer pops up on your feed instead you would need to click on their profile to view everything. In my opinion, Instagram is the easiest to tailor to your likes because you can follow whoever and you can even follow hashtags. You can follow the “#happy” and probably see a bunch of happy things that will block out all the other unnecessary things. One helpful thing i’ve found on Instagram is the ability to disable comments! Twitter is by far the most uncontrollable social media platform because people are able to retweet things and even certain hashtags and randoms can pop up on your feed but you can always block and unfollow or you can mute certain words.
Whatever it is you’re going through, remember to keep going forward and always look at the glass half full! Social media is part of our world and is a necessity nowadays.
